Terms & Conditions

 

These terms and conditions constitute the full and complete service agreement (the “Agreement”) between you (the “Customer”) and Chem-Dry On The Spot of U3, 12 Porter Street, Parkside, SA, 5063 for the provision of carpet, upholstery, mattress, car interior and hard floor cleaning services by Chem-Dry On The Spot.

Please take some time to review this Agreement. Use of our services constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

 

General Conditions

a. Customer must provide suitable parking for the provision of our services.

b. Reasonable access must be granted to technicians for unloading equipment and accessing the areas or items to be cleaned.

c. Moving of heavy and delicate furniture is not included and must be done by Customer prior to booking. The area(s) must be ready when we arrive.

 

Pricing

a. All prices are GST included.

b. Residential – our minimum charge is $115.50 ($105 plus GST) for carpet, upholstery, car interior and mattress cleaning.

c. Commercial – our minimum charge is $165.00 ($150 plus GST) for carpet, upholstery, car interior and mattress cleaning.

d. Our minimum charge is $250 for tile and vinyl flooring cleaning.

e. Carpet cleaning for residential premises is priced by the number of rooms and areas.

f. Stairs are priced per number of steps.

g. Our standard-size room is any furnished room/area up to 15 square metres. Price varies for areas above 15 square metres.

h. Carpet cleaning for open commercial areas is priced by square metre, unless the business is located in a house setting.

i. Upholstery cleaning is priced by the number of standard seating positions. For instance, a standard seating position is maximum 70 cm in length including the armrests.

j. Mattress and car interior services are priced per item/vehicle.

l. Hard floor cleaning is priced per square metre.

 

Bookings

a. Job quotations given over the phone, by email, or via our online system are subject to final inspection when our technician arrives at the premises.

b. Price alterations may occur if extra areas were not indicated in the booking, if incorrect area dimensions were given, or for conditions not covered by our standard cleaning such as pet urine deposits, permanent stains, heavily soiling, etc.

c. The technician will confirm the price with the Customer before work commences. If you disagree with the final price, we reserve the right not to provide the service.

d. We reserve the right to decline any booking request for any reason.

 

Surcharges

a. An extra charge may apply for shifting excessive light furniture, resulting in extra time required to complete the job. A set fee of $105 (GST excluded) per hour may apply in these cases to compensate for the additional time.

b. Extra charges may apply for collecting and returning keys in cases where the pick-up site is not near the job site, or if keys need to be returned the next day.

c. Extra charges may apply in situations where it is difficult to access the property or if heavy carpet cleaning equipment has to be carried to upper floor apartments when there is no lift.

d. Extra charges or hourly rate may apply in situations where it is time consuming to access the working area.

 

Payment

a. Payment is to be made directly to the technician in cash or by credit card before or immediately after the service, depending on the arrangements made.

b. Commercial clients are invoiced with a given payment term.

 

Health and Safety Hazards

a. It is the Customer’s duty to provide a safe environment free of hazards to our technicians.

b. We reserve the right to decline or interrupt the provision of our services if the job site is considered unsafe.

c. The Customer is expected to avoid affected areas during cleaning to prevent falls or other related accidents.

d. The Customer understands that when carpets and soft furnishings are not completely dry, they present a slipping hazard on nearby hard surfaces.

e. The Customer must agree to keep children and pets away from any equipment or hot water being used as part of the cleaning process.

f. The Customer must agree to keep pets restrained during cleaning as the front or back door will have to remain open during the unloading and setting up of our equipment.

 

7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

a. Chem-Dry On The Spot offers you a 7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee for most of the services we provide. This means that, based on realistic expectations, if you are not totally satisfied with our services we will return to fix any problems. If for any reason we are unable to provide you with a satisfactory cleaning after the second visit, we will promptly refund your money.

 

7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee Exclusions

a. Pet Urine Treatment—The extraction and treatment of pet urine deposits in carpets, upholstery and mattresses is one of the most complex jobs due to the nature and severity of the damage. Because urine is a complex mixture of components, it leaves both odours and stains to be treated. It has the potential to ruin your carpet fibres, backing and padding, and even to contaminate the sub floor. In upholstery and mattresses it can seep deeply into the foam, making it very difficult to completely extract. We have all the necessary equipment, solutions, and expertise to perform this particular service, however there is no guarantee that all urine odours and stains will be removed.

b. Stubborn stains—Our cleaning system successfully removes most marks in carpets. However there are stubborn stains such as red wine, cordial, coffee, tea, ink, etc., that usually require a specialised treatment. During this process, we often manage to make significant improvements, but we cannot guarantee the complete removal of permanent stains due to variables such as type of stain, type of carpet, age of the stain, etc., which are beyond our control.

c. Reappearing spots—This common problem is very often resolved by our cleaning method, however there are circumstances in which excessive application of sticky/soapy residue, usually applied by home owners to “fix” spills, can ruin carpet backing and padding, making it very difficult to completely remedy the problem.

d. Negligence—Dirty shoes or feet on damp carpet or soft furnishings leads to quick re-soiling, as damp carpet can pull dirt off the soles. We recommend being cautious until the carpet is completely dry.

e. End of Lease—This policy does not cover re-soiling or footprints as a result of foot traffic during general cleaning, furniture removal, building or maintenance work done at the property during or after the cleaning. We reserve the right to take a photo of the premises after the cleaning in case of any dispute.


Cancellation

a. There is no cancellation fee. However, we request and would greatly appreciate it if you could notify us ideally 48 hours or at least 24 hours prior if you wish to cancel your booking. This will save us not only time but also a lot of the effort and preparation that goes into each job we undertake.

 

Accidents, Breakage, Damage, and Theft

a. We will not be held responsible for repair or replacement of items broken or damaged due to pre-existing wear and tear, incorrect installation, assembly or usage.

b. The Customer must inform Chem-Dry On The Spot of any incident where an accident, breakage, damage to property or theft has occurred due to any act of the Carpet Cleaner within 24 hours of completion of the Service.

c. To the extent permitted by law, the Customer is not entitled to claim any loss for any incident if the incident is not reported to us within 24 hours of completion of the Service.
