Q: Are all Chem-Dry franchises the same?
A:

Chem-Dry is the world’s largest carpet cleaning franchise, present in Australia in every estate. All franchisees abide by Chem-Dry standards and procedures, however every franchise is independently onwed and operated with their own price list.

Q: Are you insured and police cleared?
A:

Yes, our business is fully insured and our technicians are police cleared. Please feel free to request a copy of these documents if necessary.

Q: Is your service guaranteed?
A:

Most of the services we provide are 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed. Please refer to our Satisfaction Guarantee terms and conditions for more details.

Q: How can I make a booking?
A:

You can either call us between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday or place your booking via our online booking system. We highly recommend taking advantage of our easy online booking system, where you can check prices, check availability and place a booking 24/7. However, if you need an urgent booking please give us a call.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A:

The earlier the better! We receive many booking requests by phone and online. Therefore, to secure a day and time that best suits your needs be sure to call us at least 3 days prior to your booking date. During peak times however, this can extend to a week or more.

Q: What areas of Adelaide do you serve?
A:

Please click here to see the list of suburbs currently covered by our business.

Q: How do you clean upholstery?
A:

We use our proprietary hot carbonating extraction system. Our core cleaner, The Natural®, is applied to your sofa, followed by a gentle scrubbing to help release dirt, soil, airborne allergens, and spots from the upholstery fibres. Then we use our extraction equipment to remove the cleaning solution, dirt, soil and airborne contaminants from your furniture, leaving it with a deeper, healthier clean than with other alternative methods. Our products do not leave behind soapy residues that can attract dirt.

Q: Do you clean natural fibre sofas?
A:

We have special agents for natural fabrics which will prevent shrinkage, discoloration and distortion. However, if we believe that for any reason your particular type of fabric is not suitable for cleaning we will discuss this with you on-site. Unfortunately, some manufacturers give little consideration to the need for periodic cleaning.

Q: The tag on my furniture recommends a dry cleaning method. Can you clean it?
A:

Tags recommend the safest cleaning but not necessarily the most effective method for removing soil. We always pre-test your fabric for any reaction before we proceed. Unfortunately, many manufacturers give little consideration to the fact that their product eventually will need to be cleaned.

Q: Can you clean vomit from my couch?
A:

Yes, we deep clean the affected area and sanitise it.

Q: Can you remove urine from my couch?
A:

Yes. However, there are situations in which your item can be classified as being beyond repair. Unfortunately, urine can rot your sofa’s interior if left unattended or if it is a recurring problem. Also, the thickness of the foam may make it difficult to completely extract all of the urine that has seeped deep into the interior. While we have helped to save many items with this problem, due to the complexity of this cleaning, this particular service is not covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy.

Q: Can you get stains out?
A:

Our products and processes are gentle on all kinds of fabric, whether of natural or synthetic origin, but tough enough to remove or reduce the most stubborn stains. The final result will largely depend on the type of fabric, the stain itself and how long it has been left to penetrate.

Q: Do you offer protectant?
A:

Yes, as an add-on service. Once the upholstery has been cleaned, we can stain guard the furniture with Chem-Dry’s protectant. Click here to learn more about our protectant. Alternatively, we can supply you with a protectant aerosol for you to apply to the area yourself; please note that we recommend applying this product following a professional clean.

Q: Are Chem-Dry products safe for my kids and pets?
A:

We clean your carpets and upholstery with minimal impact on the environment using Chem-Dry’s safe and non-toxic cleaning solution, The Natural®. It is 100 percent non-toxic, natural, known as one of the purest carpet cleaning solutions available, and is the heart of our cleaning process.

Q: How often should I get my couch professionally cleaned?
A:

It is recommended every 6 to 12 months depending on the size of the family. The benefits include longer durability and healthier furniture for your entire family, as furniture, like carpets, accumulate many allergens and pollutants.

Q: Can other upholstery cleaning methods actually damage my upholstery?
A:

Yes, regular steam cleaners can use excessive amounts of soapy water, and pumping too much water into the furniture can soak your upholstery for days, creating the perfect breeding ground for mould and quick re-soiling. We use just a fraction of water compared to most steam cleaners, leaving nothing behind but drier, cleaner upholstery and a much healthier environment for you and your family.

Q: What can I expect from professional leather cleaning?
A:

Our professional cleaning removes soil but it cannot correct the damage that soil has already caused. We follow the cleaning process with a leather moisturiser that also seals and protects. We can offer you a free demo that will help you understand the potential outcome of the cleaning, all at no cost to you. In extreme cases, some leather may need restoration in addition to cleaning.

Q: What method do you use to charge?
A:

We charge per item/unit (armchairs, dining chairs, etc.) or for larger furnishings per number of seats. Some sofas however have “too generous” seat sizes. For a more accurate guide, click here to enter our booking system and view prices and measurements with no-obligation.

Q: What is considered a standard seat size?
A:

Around 70 cm wide by 110 cm deep. This includes armrests and backing.

Q: How can I get a free quote?
A:

By giving us a call or clicking here to view prices in our booking system with no-obligation.

Q: What is your minimum service charge?
A:

$135 plus 10% GST. For this price, you can get a 3-seater sofa done for example.

Q: Why should I choose you if I can get cheaper quotes?
A:

Chem-Dry’s proprietary carbonating technology that is inbuilt into our main agent penetrates deep into the fabric and literally raises the dirt to the surface like no other. You are left with a much cleaner sofa for a fraction of the cost to replace it.

Q: I have stains on my upholstery. Will it cost me more to get them removed?
A:

Our cleaning process removes most stains from your upholstery. There are however situations where the removal of a stain such as red wine, pet urine, blood, coffee, etc. may require a specialised treatment. This treatment option attracts a surcharge and will be discussed with you prior to commencement of the work. The cost depends on the amount of extra time we have to spend to remove or minimise the stain. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee total removal of all stains as some substances can cause permanent discoloration of the upholstery fibres.

Q: My sofa is heavily soiled. Will it cost me more to get it cleaned?
A:

It can, because additional time and cleaning solutions are necessary to break down heavy grime and soil from your fabric and therefore achieve the optimum cleaning results. Please let us know upon booking about the condition of your upholstery. We prefer to discuss final cost on-site to better evaluate your upholstery’s condition and therefore avoid potential overcharge. You can decline the final price with no cancellation fee.

Q: What are considered additional charges?
A:

Extra services such as the cleaning of heavily soiled items, urine and faeces removal or add-on services such as sanitiser, deodoriser or protectant application.

Q: Is there a cancellation fee?
A:

No, there is no cancellation fee. However, we request and would greatly appreciate it if you could notify us at least 24 hours prior if you wish to cancel your service. This will save us not only time but a lot of effort and preparation that goes into each job that we undertake.

Q: How can I pay for your service?
A:

Payment is made directly to the technician on-site following the completion of the job. Accepted payment options are cash, debit or credit card (Visa and MasterCard). If you cannot be on site with the technician, payment can be processed via credit/debit card over the phone.

Q: What should I do before the technician arrives?
A:

The item(s) to be cleaned need to be in an accessible location with room for us move around the furniture.

Q: How long does the cleaning process take?
A:

A 3-seater sofa usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the problem and how soiled it is.

Q: How long will it take for my furniture to dry?
A:

Your specific upholstery fabric along with the extent of the soiling determine the drying time. It will typically range from 6-12 hours.

Q: Do I need to do anything special after my upholstery is cleaned?
A:

Keep your house warm with air circulating where possible to help speed up the drying time.

Q: How can I take care of spills between cleanings?
A:

React quickly to any spills to avoid staining. Chem-Dry spot remover spray is a professional strength carbonated solution that lifts spills from your upholstery without leaving any bleached marks.

Q: My rental place is fully furnished. Am I supposed to get my sofas professionally cleaned at the end of the lease?
A:

It is your obligation to return the furnishings in a fair condition at the end of the lease. Although professional cleaning may not be compulsory, it can be a good idea if you have caused excessive soiling or strong odours to avoid any tedious dispute with your property manager or landlord.

Q: Are you able to pick up the keys from the real estate agent?
A:

Yes, we can collect and return the keys to your real estate agent as long as they are located relatively near your rental premises.

Q: Do I need to be present at the appointment?
A:

No, we just request payment in advance or on completion if you are planning to return before we finish.

Q: Can I request a free on-site quote?
A:

Yes. You can call us on 08 8272 2222 or online by leaving your details here.

Q: Can you do the job while we work in the office?
A:

Yes we can, but ideally it should be done when the office is empty or when fewer members of staff will be on-site, as we will have to shift some light furniture and the sound of our equipment may distract staff and interfere with phone calls. Obviously, for hotels and retirement villages, jobs are performed at times that best suit your specific needs.

Q: Does anyone need to be there?
A:

Not necessarily, but this will obviously depend on your company’s procedures for tradies. In most cases, we are let in by a member of staff and at the end of the job we give that contact a call to inspect the work and lock the premises. In some other cases, your cleaner can give us access to the relevant areas.

Q: When and how do I pay?
A:

We will send you an invoice with the following payment options: online transfer, credit card or cheque. Alternatively, you can pay immediately after the service, in which case cash is also acceptable.

Q: What if something gets damaged during cleaning?
A:

We treat your premises with care and respect, however if something unexpectedly breaks due to our negligence we will replace it for you. We are fully insured to cover your company in case of any loss or injuries.

Q: Do you offer flexible hours to suit my business needs?
A:

Yes. During your on-site quote please inform the technician of your preferred times.
