Q: Are all Chem-Dry franchises the same?
A:

Chem-Dry is the world’s largest carpet cleaning franchise, present in Australia in every estate. Each Chem-Dry franchisee abide by Chem-Dry standards and procedures, but we are all independently owned and operated businesses. This may reflect in the use of different Chem-Dry approved cleaning systems and price lists from franchisee to franchisee

Q: Are you insured and police cleared?
A:

Yes, our business is fully insured and our technicians are police cleared. Please feel free to request a copy of these documents if necessary.

Q: Is your service guaranteed?
A:

Most of the services we provide are 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed. Please refer to our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee terms and conditions for more details.

Q: How can I make a booking?
A:

You can either call us between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday or place your booking via our online booking system. We highly recommend taking advantage of our easy online booking system, where you can check prices, check availability and place a booking 24/7. However, if you need an urgent booking please give us a call.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A:

The earlier the better! We receive many booking requests by phone and online. Therefore, to secure a day and time that best suits your needs be sure to call us at least 3 days prior to your booking date. During peak times however, this can extend to a week or more.

Q: How do you clean mattresses?
A:

We use our proprietary hot carbonating extraction system. Our core cleaner, The Natural®, is applied to both sides of your mattress, followed by a gentle scrubbing to help release dirt, soil, airborne allergens, and spots from the upholstery fibres. Then we use our extraction equipment to rinse and remove the cleaning solution, dirt, soil, and airborne contaminants from your mattress, leaving it with a deeper, healthier clean than with other alternative methods. Our products do not leave behind soapy residues.

Q: Can mattress cleaning cure my allergy?
A:

No, but it can significantly improve allergies by reducing the amount of allergens commonly found in mattresses. Additionally, our mattress cleaning service includes free application of a dust mite anti-allergen to help reduce allergies related to dust mites and mite faeces.

Q: Are Chem-Dry products safe for my kids and pets?
A:

We clean your carpets and upholstery with minimal impact on the environment using Chem-Dry’s safe and non-toxic cleaning solution, The Natural®. It is 100% non-toxic, natural, known as one of the purest carpet cleaning solutions available and is the heart of our cleaning process.

Q: I have bed bugs in my mattress. Can you clean it?
A:

No. Bed bugs are a severe problem. You should throw away your infested mattress or call a pest control specialist to treat your bed with appropriate pesticides.

Q: Can you clean vomit from a mattress?
A:

Yes, we deep clean the affected area and sanitise it to kill bacteria and neutralise odours.

Q: Can you remove urine from a mattress?
A:

Yes. However, there are situations in which your item can be classified as being beyond repair. Unfortunately, urine can ruin your mattress’ layers of foam if left unattended or if it is a recurring problem. Also, the thickness of the foam and material can make it difficult to completely extract urine that has seeped into the inner area. While we have helped to save many items with this problem, due to the complexity of this cleaning, this particular service is not covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy.

Q: Can you get stains out?
A:

The success of stain removal varies from case to case. It will all depend on how quickly you get us on-site following the occurrence, the type of stain and the fabric.

Q: How often should a mattress be cleaned?
A:

It is recommended every 6–12 months.

Q: Should I clean the mattress or replace it?
A:

It depends on the overall condition of your mattress. Severe problems with irreversible soiling, staining, wear and tear and urine contamination may suggest the need for replacement. Please ask our technician for expert advice for your individual case.

Q: What is included in the price?
A:

Standard cleaning of the mattress with a free application of dust mite anti-allergen or sanitiser solution if you prefer.

Q: Is there a cancellation fee?
A:

No, there is no cancellation fee. However, we request and would greatly appreciate it if you could notify us at least 24 hours prior if you wish to cancel your service. This will save us not only time but a lot of effort and preparation that goes into each job that we undertake.

Q: Ho can I pay for your services?
A:

Payment is made directly to the technician on-site following the completion of the job. Accepted payment options are cash, debit or credit card (Visa and MasterCard). If you cannot be on site with the technician, payment can be processed via credit/debit card over the phone.

Q: What should I do before the technician arrives?
A:

The item(s) to be cleaned need to be in an accessible location with room for us to move around the furniture. On sunny days, you can also opt to leave your mattress outside leaning against a wall, for example, on a clean surface preferably covered by clean towels.

Q: How long does the cleaning process take?
A:

A queen-size mattress usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the problem and the soiling condition.

Q: Do I have to be at home while you clean?
A:

No. We are sometimes left to do the job while the client goes out. Some clients pay us in advance and leave us in charge of locking the house when we leave. Some even leave the keys under the mat for us to gain access to the house. Although this can be arranged, we cannot be held responsible for any consequences that may arise from this before our arrival or after our departure. 

Q: How long will the mattress take to dry?
A:

Usually overnight. Therefore, we suggest you book your appointment for early morning so your mattress will have more time to dry, and this way giving more chance to have it completely dry for the night. In cases of urine contamination or heavily soiled, the cleaning requires more passes for deep removal of contaminants, which as consequence will require longer drying time. 

Q: Do I need to do anything special after my mattress has been cleaned?
A:

1) Allow air to circulate and turn on your heater on cold days to remove moisture from the air and speed up the drying time. 2) Do not lay the wet mattress on the floor; the moisture will not be able to escape, which provides an environment in which mould can grow. 3) If moving, storing, or returning a mattress, refrain from covering it in plastic for a few days after cleaning to allow suitable drying time and prevent mould growth.

Q: My rental place is fully furnished. Am I supposed to get my sofas professionally cleaned at the end of the lease?
A:

It is your obligation to return the furnishings in a fair condition at the end of the lease. Although professional cleaning may not be compulsory, it can be a good idea if you have caused excessive soiling or strong odours to avoid any dispute.

Q: Are you able to pick up the keys from the real estate agent?
A:

Yes, we can collect and return the keys to your real estate agent as long as they are located relatively near your rental premises.

Q: Do I need to be present at the appointment?
A:

No, we just request payment in advance or on completion if you are planning to return before we finish.
