Q: Are all Chem-Dry the same?

Chem-Dry is the world’s largest carpet cleaning franchise, present in Australia in every estate. Each Chem-Dry franchisee abide by Chem-Dry standards and procedures, but we are all independently owned and operated businesses. This may reflect in the use of different Chem-Dry approved cleaning systems and price lists from franchisee to franchisee.

Q: Are you insured and police cleared?
A:

Yes, our business is fully insured and our technicians are police cleared. Please feel free to request a copy of these documents if necessary.

Q: Is your service guaranteed?
A:

Most of the services we provide are 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed. Please refer to our Satisfaction Guarantee terms and conditions for more details.

Q: How can I make a booking?
A:

You can either call us between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday or place your booking via our online booking system. We highly recommend taking advantage of our easy online booking system, where you can check prices, check availability and place a booking 24/7. However, if you need an urgent booking please give us a call.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A:

The earlier the better! We receive many booking requests by phone and online. Therefore, to secure a day and time that best suits your needs be sure to call us at least 3 days prior to your booking date. During peak times however, this can extend to a week or more.

Q: What is involved?
A:

Our system combines a gentle scrubbing of your tiles and grout with a rotary scrubber that gives a powerful rinse at 1200 PSI (or less for natural tiles) to blast dirt and grime out of the tile surface and grout lines.

Q: Do you offer sealant application?
A:

After the thorough cleaning process, we can apply a sealant in order to create a hygienic barrier for your grout as a guard against bacteria, dirt and staining.

Q: Do you do wall tiles as well?
A:

Yes.

Q: How often should I get my tiles professionally cleaned?
A:

The frequency is directly related to the amount of traffic and build-up of dirt and grime.

Q: How do you charge?
A:

Q: What is your minimum service charge for tile and grout?
A:

AU$250. You can get an area up to 27 sqm done for this price.

Q: Do I need to remove furniture?
A:

Ideally yes. However, we can clean around heavy furniture if you agree to it. We suggest you cover furniture bases with plastic where possible to protect them from the professional grade chemicals used to scrub the tiles clean.

Q: What else should I do before the technician arrives?
A:

Your floor should be free of any light furniture and any excess debris.

Q: How long does the cleaning process take?
A:

A 30-square-metre room can take 1 to 2 hours.

Q: Do I have to stay home while you clean?
A:

No. We are often left to do the job while the client goes out. Some clients pay us in advance and leave us in charge of locking the house when we leave. Others even leave the keys under the mat for us to access the house. Although this can be arranged, we cannot be held responsible for any consequences that may arise from this before our arrival or after our departure. 

Q: How long will it take for my floor to dry?
A:

Your floor is left completely dry and shiny, ready for use.

Q: Can you do the job while we are working in the office?
A:

As we use heavy equipment to perform this particular service, we recommend doing the job after trading hours or on Saturdays to avoid overloading your electrical system, which can cause a power trip. Also, the noise disruption can be another reason to have this job done outside working hours.
